Nadine's Wedding

This past weekend I was a bride's maid in my sister-in-law's wedding. If you know me at all, you'd know that I'm not really a "wedding person". However... I did enjoy seeing Nadine become married. She made a really beautiful bride, and the ceremony was simple and elegant. They were married in a beautiful park by the river. The only down side to the whole event (well aside from the threat of rain) was a group of tourists from China. They spent the entire time taking pictures of the wedding and of the bride. The whole thing was very puzzling. Would you really want pictures of a stranger's wedding? Very strange. :)

Here are a few of my favs...

It works again!! So I'm going to throw up as much as I can get on here and see how it goes...

I love this photo. This was the boat that we went sailing on in Lake Tahoe. It was incredible windy and walking around on it was incredibly hard, but it was awesome!!

Lets try this again

visit home

Hi All! I've had such a hard time uploading photos lately and it finally worked!!! I don't know what was going but I'm happy that it is working now. Some of these have been in the works from a long time ago...... :)

There really is nothing like going home. Except this time my "home" has been moved to my grandparents' farm. My parents recently moved out to the farm and I have to admit that I was not really impressed with the move. The move meant an extra 40 minutes to my already 3 & 1/2 hour drive. In a totally selfish manner I was less than enthused.

So this was my first official trip home since the move. The drive took a whopping 5 hours (mainly because of 5 year old roadside squatting breaks). I was expecting to not really enjoy the drive, however Em cooperated by peacefully coloring the entire way. So I drove in complete silence (minus the occasional singing from the 5 year old, and the frequent panicked outcry "Mommy.. I have to pee!!). 5 hours of silence = total bliss!!

random shots from the past few weeks

I've been pretty negligent lately about posting the photos I've been taking. Ooops :)

There are Canada geese around out home constantly. Em loves to walk around and point out the foot prints.

Em found a snail at the tennis club. It lived until it was dropped.
Until that point I was pretty sure we had a new house pet. :)

Clear Lake is so beautiful, no matter what the weather is doing.

My awesome nephew, Ashton. He spent a few days with us camping.

It truly is amazing how much these two act like siblings. They are super competitive with one another, and constantly picking at each other.

I love, love, love this photo. :)

My photo partner

I can not believe that there are only a few more classes before our first photography class is done. I am really going to miss this class and the time that I have gotten to share with Noreen.
Here are a couple shots that we took at our last class. She is so easy to take pictures of. :)

It's really too bad she's a Canon girl. It's a good thing we were friends first. :)

Shutter Speeds Assignment

I absolutely love playing with my camera.
This weeks assignment had us out taking pictures of anything that moves and playing with how fast (or slow) you open & close the shutter in your camera.
Here are two of my favs...

Newly inspired

Last night was the first night of the photography class that I'm taking with Noreen.
It inspired me to post a few recent shots.

Tahoe

The seminar was fantastic, but Sunday morning I had the opportunity to get up really early (4:30 am) to go out and take some shots of the water fall that was near by. What an incredible experience to be surrounded by nature. I feel so blessed.

Any body have any idea what this is...?

A Day With The Elliotts

Yesterday we spent the whole day with the Elliott Clan. 4 kids and two adults makes for two very tired adults by the end of the day. We started out at Fort Whyte which is one of my favorite places to go this time of year. And then we took them to the movie "up". Soooo sweat (if you take out all the shooting parts). I don't know why they can't just make a movie that doesn't have any violence at all. The movie itself was so cute. It's about this little old man who's wife passes and he decides to live out one of their childhood dreams. Ofcourse I cried (when don't I cry).

Playing with shutter speeds at the fish pond...

I was finally "allowed" to take a picture of little A...
